I have been successfully empowering and coaching women & men in their efforts to lose weight and keep it off for over a decade now and I can tell you that we’ve over complicated how we think about diet and exercise. Ok so I moved into my new home 🏡 and office yesterday. Forget Cooking 👩‍🍳 and the nearest place to my new digs was a burger 🍔 and BBQ place . Did I stress? Nahh. Ordered the burger with avocado 🥑 and a baked potato instead of the fries or bun🍟. I ate half the potato 🥔 because it was huge.
“There are no bad foods , just bad portions “ . Had a Chardonnay with ice to make it last longer.
And hey, I totally would have had the burger 🍔 with bun and fries 🍟 if I really wanted them or if not having them would have left me feeling deprived but it just wasn’t a “ moment “. Learning to choose your “ moments” wisely is key. I know I can have the burger and fries anytime I want so there’s no urgency to have it tonight when I’m just not feeling it. ARE YOU GETTING IT?!
Allowing all foods helps you to stop overeating them.

“How do I want to feel on Monday?”
Until you are able to change your thinking from the immediate fleeting pleasure in the moment to the possible pain of the future, you will not make progress. You must learn to think past the moment. So next time you are in a tempting situation don’t ask yourself “Do I want it?” Ask yourself instead “How do I want to FEEL” at the end of this day, tomorrow morning , Monday?
You really have to get sick and tired 😓 of starting over every damn Monday and “change your question” in tempting situations to get results.
I use cognitive behavioral techniques in my Real Deal Weight Loss programs to help women finally overcome their sabotaging thinking . And when you change the way you think you can change the way you behave. Losing weight is so much more than just the food .

Well 🖕🏻2020 but ya know what , I’m not going to let you steal my joy. Finding ways to enjoy summer and enjoy life while still being responsible.
I couldn’t help but think how grateful I am for my healthy strong 💪🏻 body yesterday as I effortlessly walked over 6 miles in the heat enjoying the waterways through Jersey City and Hoboken with my daughters and son in law.
